Where will my bodywork or distance session take place?
Your  bodywork session will take place in a comfortable, quiet room. In Bowling Green, this is in a cozy family home residence with one cat where the therapist is an elder caregiver when she is not giving sessions or teaching. In Toledo, it is in a professional office with other kinds of clientele. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a massage table especially designed for your comfort. If you have set up a distance session, you can be in the comfort of your on home on a bed or sofa. You may also have a session in a chair in your office or somewhere else that you feel comfortable. Privacy is advised for deeper relaxation.

Must I be completely undressed?
No. Reiki and CCT are traditionally performed with the client clothed.

What parts of my body will be touched?
A typical full-body Reiki session will include work on areas you specify and work above your body in your aura or energy field as well as on your arms, abdomen, legs, feet, hands, head, face, neck, back, and shoulders.

The CCT you choose may follow a set pattern or incorporate Reiki, acupressure, stretches, subtle movement of the body, and can include your discussing what's bothering you or what you want to qualities and changes you'd like to see in your life. Talking sometimes helps us process and identify a phase in our lives. Generally, the same areas are contacted lightly as in a Reiki session.

What will Reiki and CCT body- energywork feel like?
You may feel heat or other types of vibration and shifts that will help calm your nervous system and relax you. You could fall asleep and notice very little. You may read more about Reiki and CCT on their specific pages.

What should I do during the bodywork session?
Prior to your session, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. Consider what you would like to see for yourself and in your life. You might also reflect on what qualities you would like in your life. What do you need? What do you want? If you intend a new job, what would it feel like to have it? Do you need physical healing? Be sure to mention what kinds.

During the session, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they feel a need for less intensity, or if they feel some kind of discomfort, are too cool or hot, need a blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.

How will I feel after the bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during Reiki and CCT, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your session.

Notice what shifts for you. Look for different ways any intentions you've made appear in your life. Are they in a wonderful new form or exactly as you envisioned them? Do you need another session? How soon? Next week? Sessions are cumulative. This means we can always benefit from "self" work and time for ourselves to relax and regroup.

What are the benefits of energy healing?
Body-centered energywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, transform mental attitudes and perspectives, promote faster healing of injuries and surgery, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure.

Energy healing like Reiki and CCT is known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being sometimes after one full session. Like any form of healing including medication and visits to a medical professional or any kind of therapist, a return to wholeness and balance requires more than an hour session of anything. You may want tune-ups on a regular basis, returning monthly, bi-monthly or perhaps weekly for awhile depending on your state of health. Reiki and CCT are your commitment to your health and well-being.

CCT is known for its accelerated healing. Both Reiki and CCT enhance quality of life.

Are there any medical conditions that would make bodywork inadvisable?
No. However, if you're feeling too sick to travel because you have a terrible flu, you might want to ask for a distance session instead and stay home in bed.
